Engineering

Aerospace Engineering

Main article: Aerospace Engineering Minor

In order to earn a minor in aerospace engineering, you must complete 19 credits of classes including MAE 201 and two courses each from two approved lists.

Applied Mathematics

Main article: Applied Mathematics Minor

The minor offered through the APMA department requires five courses from the APMA, MATH, or STAT departments, two of which must be selected from APMA 308, 310, and 314.

Biomedical Engineering

The minor in biomedical engineering requires 18 credits, with BIOM 201, BIOM 204, and four electives.

Engineering Business

This minor, administered through the STS department, is one of the most popular, preparing engineers to make cost-based decisions in any business that may employ them. It requires COMM 180, ECON 201, and TMP 351, as well as three other courses from an approved list.

History of Science and Technology

Also offered through the STS department, as well as the history department, the courses in this minor puts engineering into context. As with most minors, it requires 18 credits from an approved list.

Materials Science

The minor in material science allows engineers to apply knowledge of the properties of materials to their respective fields. This minor requires five courses in material science including the introductory MSE 209 course.

Technology and the Environment

Main article: Technology and the Environment Minor

This minor is offered through the STS department, and is concerned with the environmental impact of technology. To receive this minor, you must take either CE 205 or EVSC 148, as well as another environmental technology course. You must also complete no more than two courses in the department of your major and three courses toward a specific emphasis: environmental policy, management and economics, or history of technology and the environment.
