  • Rodman Scholar
  • Raven Society-Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society First Year Leadership Award

[edit] Research and Design Experience

  • PuzzleCast
    • Design project initiated to work on the problem statement: "Each year, approximately 6.8 million Americans experience immobilization induced atrophy, which leads to increased recovery time and vulnerability to other related injuries."
    • Our solution is a modular cast design with removable components to decrease muscle atrophy by increasing range of motion.
    • Poster: "Using Modular Casts to Reduce Atrophy, Recovery Time, and Cost Compared to Traditional Treatments of Upper Extremity Fractures", Anderson, K; Amante, D; Harton, A; Tran, C; Presented at the National Academy of Engineering Summit on the Grand Challenges, Raleigh, NC
  • Thromboelastography Comparison Experiment
    • My research in the Walker Ultrasound Lab is focused on proving the efficacy of a new sonar technology used to determine blood coagulation in a surgical setting. In particular, the project compares the stress applied by a Thromboelastograph (TEG) to a Sonorheometer to measure the effects on clot time and clot strength.
  • Faraday's Mouse
    • First year design project in ENGR 142R focused on designing an alternative energy source to power a computer mouse
