From Rodman Scholars Program

Jump to: navigation, search

Regardless of your formal educational status, the Rodman Scholars Program believes that one should never stop trying to learn. Consequently, this is not the "Former Rodman Scholars" page, but rather the page for current Rodman Scholars who have advanced past their undergraduate experience at U.Va. A few pages that might be of interest to you are highlighted at the bottom of the page.

Contents

[edit] Getting a RodWiki Account

If you have information to contribute to this site and would like to request an account, please email our Webmaster, who will be happy to set you up with a login name and password.

[edit] Coming Back to Charlottesville

A wise man once said that all U.Va grads spend the rest of their lives trying to work their way back to Charlottesville. Regardless of what stage of the return you might currently be in, here are a few ways to make a short visit sooner, rather than later.

[edit] Reunions

The Rodman Scholars Program is tentatively planning to hold a Rodman Reunion during Reunion Weekend '09. For more information or if you have suggestions, please contact Christina Stamper and/or Matt Fifer.

[edit] Career Fair Presentations

The Fall 2008 Engineering Career Fair is currently scheduled for September 16th-18th. The Rodman Scholars Program has begun hosting a concurrent speaker series where alumni employers make brief presentations to current undergraduate students, followed by chances to interact with students on a one-on-one basis afterwards. If you or your company might be interested in this opportunity, please contact our Networking Chair, who will be organizing the event.

[edit] Rodman Career Talks

For those of you who would like to share what you do with our current undergraduates about to embark on their own career journey, we are open to scheduling Rodman Career Talks at any time during the school year. If you would like to speak to an audience of Rodman Scholars about your career (or really any topic of your choice), please contact our Networking Chair, who will try to schedule a date, time, and location of your talk.

[edit] The Digital Return: rOdyssey

While your physical presence in Charlottesville is certainly optimal, our program is working on a new networking site called rOdyssey, where current students and alumni can interact to exchange career advice, job opportunities, or pretty much any kind of information in a semi-professional setting. The site is currently in development, but please sign up to be one of our trial users and experiment with our newest creation.

[edit] Donations?

Currently, we are working to set up a formal PayPal donation link. Regardless of the progress of our online system, we are always willing to discuss and accept donations, and are extremely grateful for any contributions that you choose to make. If you are thinking about making a donation to the Rodman Scholars Program, please contact our program director or our alumni contact here.
